The Structural Problem With Free Periods

The number is not the interesting part. The transition is.

A bundled free stretch ends on a date determined by the package you bought, and that date has no relationship to anything else in your business. No filing falls due. No email from the state arrives. Nothing in your operations changes shape. The single observable event is $149 leaving an account for a service you last thought about eleven months earlier, and by that point inertia has made the decision instead of comparison.

When Bizee's Bundle Expires, Oregon's Form Is Free

Most states hand you a numbered form for this. Oregon hands you a name.

What you get is the Information Change (Corporation/Limited Liability Company), and that name is the entire identifier. Oregon's Corporation Division does not number its business forms; each one carries a revision date in the corner and nothing more. If you have ever tried to search for a state filing by its number, you will find there is nothing to search for here, which is either liberating or disorienting depending on your temperament.

Three routes get it filed. You can mail the paper version to the Corporation Division. You can fax it, which is unusual enough in 2026 to be worth mentioning as a live option. Or you can leave paper out entirely and complete the Information Change inside the Oregon Business Registry online. All three land in the same place.

The fee across all three routes is $0.00, an amount the state has published on its Business Registry fee schedule rather than left to inference. Under ORS 63.114, changing the registered agent named on your record is a filing you make, not a purchase you complete.

The form asks for four things: your business name and Oregon registry number, the incoming agent, the new registered office address (an Oregon street address that is also the agent's business office), and a tick in the box confirming that the incoming agent consented to serve.

That last item is what makes a gap impossible to create by accident. Consent and appointment sit on the same page as the removal, so the transfer happens as a single event with no interval in between. There is no version of this form that leaves your entity with nobody in the role.
